Meet the Staff

My name is Jessica and I would like to tell you what both of my camps are all about and why I decided to develop and construct a TEACHER RUN fun-filled summer day camp and an EXTREME TEEN camp that takes campers to Colleges & Universities.

Over a decade ago I spent months researching and attending meetings about opening up a certified youth camp. I fulfilled my dream by opening a facility that allows children to have an action- packed summer that they will remember for years to come. I do not want a huge facility where you are "just a face" but rather a "family feel" where you want to attend daily.

I feel this is what growing children need, a positive interaction with children their own age and caring counselors. Other camps may have hundreds of campers, but at Adventures in Camp, we have a close knit environment to ensure all of the campers get the feeling of safety and security while they have the most fun possible!

Not only am I working hard on both camps and in my 4th grade classroom, but I have a busy little family of my own. We have school projects, basketball, cheer, girl scouts and more. My two children come to camp, and they love it! Camp has always been my first "baby", and now that I have my own children, all I can do is smile.

2016 I started researching and brainstorming about teen camps. Honestly, it was the families at camp who pushed me to open a camp because their children who have been at camp for years are now older and ready for the next step in life.

I decided to make this camp a bit more intense than the teacher run camp. Campers have longer field trips and visit Colleges and Universities. Being able to experience a variety of Colleges and Universities with their peers is a great way to get your children excited about their future!

2017 was the EXTREME TEEN's first summer, and the parents, campers and staff LOVED IT! So now we are going to try it again in 2018. Hopefully we will be able to maintain both camp for years to come.
Thank you for making our camp, part of your family.

The Wonderful Counselors of BOTH Camps

All counselors at both camps are CPR certified, First Aid & Asthma trained, FBI & Maryland fingerprinted and have a clean background check from the CPS - Child Protection Service. Not to mention that the counselors are trained in an assortment of camp's procedures, such as safety with indoor activities, outdoor activities, field trip and pool policies and procedures.

Each group will have a trained counselor who has a walkie- talkie in their possession for constant communication between groups and the director. This way, communication is immediate. If the counselor feels the schedule should to be changed in order to adapt to their group's interests, we can modify the schedule to fit everyone's needs, while making sure we know where everyone is at all times. Modifying the schedule will guarantee each child is given the ample opportunity to express their interests in a structured environment.

The counselors are here to ensure the fun and safety of your child during their stay with us. We want to make sure children have an action-packed, super fun, stimulating break from school. Their counselors are there to guide the campers, be a listener, and provide a positive influence on your child's life.
